There were several additional events at CES. CES Unveiled was held Tuesday evening, then there was ImageScape on Wednesday morning. Digital Experience on Wednesday night at the Bellagio Grand Ballroom and the Microsoft party at the brand new Pure Nightclub in Caesar's Palace.  ShowStoppers was at the MGM Grand on Thursday night.  Friday night we attended the Spy Another Day launch at the Palms Hotel in the Rain nightclub and Saturday evening was a great get-together of other Microsoft Team members and other MVPs.  There were several other events to which we'd received invitations, but found it necessary to decline.  There just isn't enough time to do it all, as much as we wanted to.

The Microsoft Tablet PC team hosted a brunch at the Hilton for Tablet PC enthusiasts, ISVs and OEMs.  The attendance was excellent.  It was a great experience being in a room filled with people who wanted nothing more than to make Tablet PCs more mainstream and are actively working to produce more products to make it happen.  The Hilton certainly didn't scrimp on portions and there was more than enough food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

Ces Unveiled is a press only event.  This year, it was held in some of the press rooms at the Convention Center.  The crowd was huge and it was very difficult to get to some of the booths.  Those who attended found that it was worth taking the time to wait for the crowd to thin a bit before trying to navigate the narrow aisles.  Food and drink were excellent and replenished throughout the event.  Unfortunately, there was so little time that I'm sure I wasn't the only one who didn't take time to enjoy them.

Lexar Media had a new 1Ghz USB flash drive including the capabilities to keep email and other files and settings on the drive and off the computer, making it an excellent tool for those wanting to protect their data from the prying eyes of others.

Logitech showed its large assortment of peripherals, many of them excellent for enhancing Tablet PC use.

LG is a company that I'm respecting more and more.  Their monitors and TVs have some of the best pictures I've seen.  They were also at other events.  I had a conversation with some of the LG reps at both Digital Experience and when I took the booth tour for my Media Center articles.  I'd just recently purchased a 19" monitor due to the excellent specifications.  It's certainly not been a disappointment.

ImageScape was InfoTrends luncheon.  Held in the Flash Forward area of CES, it included a gallery of booths promoting digital cameras and accessories.  The panel discussion following the luncheon was very informative as it generally is.  Unfortunately, just as last year, some attendees decided that it was a place to visit and enjoy the lunch rather than listen to the panel.

There was also some products shown here that will certainly be of interest to Tablet PC users.  MediaGear has some great portable drives, some for use at home when a lot more storage is needed and some very portable devices that I think are perfect for taking with you.

Digital Experience has always been one of our favorite events at both Comdex and CES.  This year's event by Pepcom certainly didn't disappoint us.  There was a lot of room to navigate, even though the event was very large and well-attended.  (See the list of exhibitors below)  It's a credit to those who planned it that they used a room large enough to accommodate everyone comfortably.

Digital Experience has always been a great way to find some excellent products in a more relaxed atmosphere than the show floor.  Food and drink are among some of the best of the parties as those visitors to the ice Martini bar will attest.  The all ice martini bar is the centerpiece.  This year, it was sponsored by Samsung and had several products embedded in the bar.

Here's where I got a really good look at some of the new LG monitors.

The reps at the Panasonic booth were getting a lot of looks as they tossed the Toughbook CF18 to the floor.  It certainly proved that this ruggedized Tablet was made to handle any abuse that a user might give it.

ShowStoppers was held in the MGM Grand Ballrooms. Once again, it provided the press with the opportunity to meet representatives showcasing their products.  The food and drink are always excellent.  This year, things were even better as they set up an area outside the show floor for wireless internet connections.  I have to say, this was the best connection I saw the entire week I was in Las Vegas.  Others were making the same comments.  A special thank you to the team who set this up!

There were some great new products discovered here.  Although there weren't a lot for Tablets, the ones I found were things I highly recommend to Tablet users.  Take a look at the CES page for more descriptions.
